EMA Advisory Board

The Huron County EMA Board consists of a representative from each township, village and city within Huron County. This Board meets quarterly and guides the actions of the EMA in regards to future mitigation and preparedness efforts. The Board has also had a focus on hazardous materials incidents since its inception.

Each jurisdiction contributes $.25 per resident into an EMA fund that this Board oversees. Historically, the EMA Board has used these funds to provide hazardous materials supplies and equipment for the county fire departments to effectively and safely contain chemical spills. Since many of our hazmat equipment needs have been met, the board has most recently provided funds for other important projects. Some of those projects include maintenance and/or new tires for the countywide fire education smokehouse, 2 hazmat trailers, decontamination trailer and several mobile generators. The Board also recently funded the weather warnings portion of Huron County Alerts
